HISTORY OF TATAMI

Tatami Fightwear was established in 2009 in the UK, after the founders Gareth and Lee noticed a gap in the market for good quality and affordable BJJ equipment. Gareth, a brown belt level in Brazilian Jui Jitsu, was involved in teaching children and adults in deprived areas, and found it increasingly difficult to find good quality equipment at prices his students could afford.

This sparked the birth of Tatami; where Tatami products are now available in over 30 different countries across the globe and through 300 academies and 100 online shops.
